Simple, refreshing, and a consistently requested drink among friends and family. Here's my classic margarita recipe!
My Margaritas - the most asked for cocktail - AND RECIPE - at friend and family gatherings here at Casa Williams.
THE INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 parts tequila
1 part lemon or lime, freshly squeezed
1/4 part agave nectar
a heavy pour or 2-4 parts sparkling water at the end
stir and enjoy!
I just start with the regular margarita ingredients -
tequila, 2 limes or 1 large lemon, agave nectar and then add the "secret" ingredient at the end - sparkling water!
The tequila, lime or lemon, and sweetener (agave nectar or simple syrup) is all shaken together and poured into the glass per usual first!
And now here's the last part - I'm sure this trick is nothing new, because there really isn't much to a margarita to begin with, ha, but here's what I do at the end to give it a light, crisp, and not so sweet and sour twist-
I add sparkling water at the end after shaking the other ingredients together!
Looks pretty refreshing, right?
It really does cut down on the citrus and sweetness that some people don't care for. I even have friends that DON'T EVER ORDER OR MAKE MARGARITAS AND ASK ME TO MAKE THESE!
Below, I even made this funny pic as a visual to show how much of each ingredient :)
Here are the ingredients, again, or you can refer to the recipe card above or find it in the printables section on the home page:
1 1/2 parts tequila
1 part lemon or lime, freshly squeezed
1/4 part agave nectar
a heavy pour or 2-4 parts sparkling water at the end
stir and enjoy!
This is so easy and is a great cocktail for any party - it's a favorite drink at moms' night on the porch!
Let me know if you'll try it!
Salud! Cheers!
