Mossy Spring Tablescape

Adding a bag of moss can instantly change your table (and mood) into Springtime!

March winter weather is keeping us inside but we are all gearing up for Spring! The newness of spring is something I SOOOOOO look forward to after long Midwestern winters and so I thought to implement moss in this year's spring tablescape.

Moss reminds me of the transition from winter to spring, when only a little bit of green can be spotted. The bright green color of moss is like welcoming the month of March with open arms; and since we celebrate St. Patrick's Day, it"s a festive way to rock the GREEN!

I'm excited to share my Spring Table with you all - especially because I primarily used what I had and just added a couple of bags of moss.

Here's how you can add moss to your spring table and dining room for a fresh Spring feel:

Make a couple of centerpieces with wood discs, terra-cotta dishes, or plates. Just place a candle (like I did here on the table) or a vase (like the mason jar one I did on the sideboard) in the middle of the moss on the dish or disc. Easy peasy, lemon squeez-e!

You can add more moss to the table just by sticking it under the centerpiece. I placed this Easter basket filled with silverware on top of a wood charger and pushed some moss under the basket, exposing a bit of the green haphazardly to give it kind of a "coming out of the winter" feel..

Next, for each place setting, you can use a little cup, glass, saucer plate, or ramikin and drop an Easter egg on top of the moss. These glasses are a vintage hand-me down and I found the eggs at the Dollar Tree a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if they still have them, but any cheapies would do... or little birdies or use anything else that reminds you of spring....

And lastly, with a bag of Spanish moss you can make little "nests" by stuffing the moss into a grapevine wreath (mine's from the Dollar Tree)-

I then added the eggs on top and placed it in a cake stand on the sideboard, highlighting it with the glass cover:

So there you have it! A budget friendly way to add some spring to your table!

I scored the set of blue and white floral plates at Goodwill a couple of years ago and I like that they add a classic feel. These are a pretty alternative.

The blue and white striped table runner is an older tablecloth folded up. This one is almost identical.

The blue glass center vase is from Homegoods. Here is a similar one. This one is fab too.

The blue recycled water glasses are from Homegoods. These are similar.

The glass Irish coffee mugs are linked here.

The green moss is here. Spanish natural moss linked here.

The Easter basket was my mom's and here's a similar one.

The green spring stems are from Hobby Lobby.

The pastel eggs are from the Dollar Tree and here are similar ones.

The glass cake stand on the hutch is a goodwill find but this is similar. And this one has a little bird on top.

The wood chargers are chopped discs from trees but here is a comparable large one.
